Pre-requisites
This distribution of OMII-BPEL is meant to be installed with OMII stack. OMII has its own pre-requisites (even though you should start installing without double-checking as it should install on any modern platforms and recent JDKs). Therefore please check the OMII documentation first.OMII-BPEL requires and has been tested with JDK 1.5.0. Note that versions below, including 1.4.x is no longer supported.
To install ActiveBPEL engine, OMII Server (v3.4.x) must be installed.
To install BPEL Designer, OMII Client (v3.4.x) must be installed. In addition, Eclipse 3.3.x also must be installed separately from the distribution. This is because two versions of Eclipse for both Windows and Linux will take up some 300MB disc space, unnecessarily. Additionally, please note that BPEL Designer depends on (and will install) the following Eclipse plugins, which may corrupt your own versions of them in your existing Eclipse installation, therefore BPEL Designer (and your own plugins installed) may not work properly if there is any unsolved dependency issue. It's recommended that you have a fresh installation of Eclipse for BPEL Designer.
- EMF 2.3.0
- GEF 3.3.0
- WTP 2.0RC4
For installation without OMII stack, please refer to the products' official web sites accordingly.
