OMII-BPEL 3.0.0
OMII-BPEL 3.0.0 upgrades OMII-BPEL to BPEL 2.0. You can use it to model, test, deploy and monitor large-scale scientific workflows using BPEL and take advantage of a number of BPEL extensions, such as indexed parallel flows.
The key features this release makes available:
- Integration of ActiveBPEL 3.0 with the Eclipse BPEL Designer
- Improved editing facilities for WSDL and XSD artifacts
- Integration of a basic XPath Editor
- Fully automated deployment into an ActiveBPEL run-time
This release has been tested on Windows and Linux platforms.

ActiveBPEL Runtime Plug-in 0.4.0 EUROPA Version
The Europa version of the ActiveBPEL runtime plug-in is available for separate download here. Please ensure you remove any previously installed versions of this plug-in from your plugins directory, before copying this version. You can deploy the ActiveBPEL runtime plug-in by by unpacking and copying the resulting JAR file into your plugins folder.
Please note that you will also need to download and install Tomcat and ActiveBPEL 3.0.

OMII-BPEL 2.1.0 is the first fully-featured release of our environment. You can use it to model, test, deploy and monitor large-scale scientific workflows using BPEL.
The key features this release makes available:
- Integrated UDDI browser to discover and import services
- Generation of web form to provide input to and launch deployed BPEL process from within BPEL Designer with support for OMII WS-Security
- Integration of ActiveBPEL into BPEL Designer to start, stop server and now also deploy BPEL processes to it
- Basic automated generation of deployment archives
- BPEL 2.0 Facet and runtime framework to support third-party runtime providers to integrate their BPEL engines

OMII-BPEL 2.0.1
OMII-BPEL 2.0.1 includes a more fully featured release of the Eclipse BPEL Designer. It offers wizards for setting up service partners and variables, presents a tighter integration with WTP and offers a preview of how interaction with the ActiveBPEL engine for automated deployment will work from within the BPEL Designer. In addition, this release fixes an issue that prevented deployment of OMII-BPEL 2.0.0 onto Linux platforms. The ActiveBPEL that is contained in OMII-BPEL 2.0.1 is unchanged from version 2.0.0.
New OMII-BPEL 2.0.1 client-side features:
- Partner and variable setup wizards.
- Add WSDL and XSD imports from project, workspace or URLs.
- Install and run on Linux platforms.

OMII-BPEL 2.0.0
OMII-BPEL 2.0.0 is the first release incorporating the Eclipse BPEL Designer. As this release is not feature-complete (can't create new service partners, no automated deployment, no validation), monthly updates will be made available via this web site.
For now, the OMII-BPEL 2.0.0 release provides an opportunity for first exploration and evaluation of this new BPEL modelling environment.
Our Milestones will be updated soon to reflect the progression of OMII-BPEL over the coming months.
OMII-BPEL 2.0.0 client-side features include:
- Basic BPEL 2.0 graphical editor with BPEL project & project creation, number of basic wizards, etc.
- Integration with graphical WSDL and XSD editors.
- Ability to setup, start and stop ActiveBPEL engine from within Eclipse.
- OMII-BPEL 2.0.0 server-side features:
- Upgrade to ActiveBPEL 2.1 engine incorporating bug fixes and supporting some BPEL 2.0 constructs via extensions.
- Support for process state persistence to DB.
- WS-Security integration.

OMII-BPEL 1.1.1
The OMII-BPEL environment will be available via the official OMII distribution later this year. For now you can download OMII-BPEL here and follow the instructions below to install. The latest stable version is OMII-BPEL 1.1.1.
- Extract downloaded zip file.
- Root directory of extracted file contains Ant build file. In command prompt enter: ant build-client.
- Another Ant build file will have been created in dist/client directory. In command prompt enter: ant install.all -Domii.client.home=<dir client should be installed in>
